Artist-Client connection when doing commissions

There’s a special kind of energy that comes with creating a commissioned piece, a blend of my own artistic voice and the client’s vision coming together in one place. This recent commission was exactly that kind of experience. From our first conversation to the final approval, the process felt collaborative and easy, with a clear sense of what they hoped the artwork would bring into their home. I always aim to balance the client’s needs with the natural way I work letting the piece evolve, trusting the movement of colour and texture. Their trust and feedback along the way helped shape the final result, and allowed me the freedom to create the painting. I also offered a referral for framing, since the right frame can elevate a piece and help it settle beautifully into its new space. Now the artwork is with its new owner, and I’m looking forward to hearing how it lives in their home.
Commissions like this remind me how much I enjoy the connection between artist and client. I appricate the trust, and the support that collectors show in wanting orignal art and creating something meaningful, together.
