A fun and challanging project for an upcoming theatre production

I’ve been invited to create three original paintings for an upcoming play premiering in September 2026 at Toronto’s Red Sandcastle Theatre. It’s an exciting challenge, but also a meaningful one: each piece needs to reflect the main character’s emotional journey as they navigate and process a traumatic experience.
Translating something so internal and complex into visual form is no small task. I’m exploring how colour, texture, and symbolism can echo the character’s shifting inner world—moving from fragmentation to confrontation to a sense of emerging wholeness. It’s the kind of project that asks you not just to paint, but to listen deeply to the story beneath the story.
I’ll be sharing more about the creative process as it unfolds, but for now, I’m honoured to help bring this narrative to life in a way that supports the play’s emotional arc.
